Grab a pen and a journal. Tip: I would devote a new, beautiful journal to this exercise. I like to use calligraphy pens. Go ahead, color it beautiful!

Do you feel as if you are swimming upstream, everyday? If so, remember...Where there is no vision, the people perish...

You must have a vision for everything you do in the classroom.

Devoting a page per question, answer the following:

1. Why did you choose teaching as a career? Create a mission statement from this answer.

2. What do you notice about others that annoys you? Why?

3. What aspect of teaching could you be the best in the world at?

4. What do other teachers compliment you on?

5. What makes you cry?

6. Picture the prefect classroom? What does the space look like? How is decorated?

7. In your perfect classroom, what are you doing? What are you wearing? What is the season?

8. In your perfect classroom, what are you students doing? How are they doing it?

9. At the end of the year, how do you want your students to remember you?

10. At the end of your teaching career, what do you hope people say about your career and/ or accomplishments?

11. What do you dislike about teaching? What do you like? Make a Pro/Con list.

12. What are some things you wish you could change about your teaching?
